Associate Degrees Can Quickly Advance Your Career

Author: Michael Bustamante

Looking for a quick way to advance your career? An Associate Degree program will allow you to focus on courses in your specific fields of study, without taking general education courses that are of no interest to you. This course of study can provide for entry into the workforce more quickly than bachelor degree programs, and may be the answer for those who have little time to study.

Associate degrees are post-secondary education degrees that require approximately two years of full-time preparation. Some schools provide options for part-time study, allowing working adults a convenient way to improve their job situations or to advance into a new career. Some associate degrees in technical and vocational schools and colleges can be completed in just months of study.

Traditional colleges, junior colleges, and universities provide associate degree programs in many fields of interest. Some of the most popular majors include: business (AB), arts (AA), sciences (AS), engineering, information technology (IT), preventive medicine, and education.

An Associates Degree can qualify you for some of the fastest growing careers in the job market, and provide increased earnings. Associate Degrees create opportunities for entry-level positions in arts, sciences, humanities, technology, mathematics, and many more.

Furthermore, an Associates Degree can lead to advanced educational opportunities. If you choose to further your education, credits from an Associate Degree can be transferred to a bachelor degree program in a four-year institution.
